About Alex Valich:
Alex Valich was born & raised in Brooklyn NY. The son of Istrian(Croatian) immigrants who worked in the food business, he has been around the kitchen since an early age. Following the Istrian tradition, Alex was taught about growing and harvesting your own foods, in a backdrop of an urban environment. Alex had his own home delivery food service in 2000 called Cahuita Kitchen in Fort Greene which was at least a decade before the Dr Klaw lobster roll venture. Today he enjoys concocting his own culinary adventures at home as well as exploring others happening in Brooklyn. A professed lover of a slice of real Brooklyn pizza and the newest locavore dining experience, Alex created this blog to showcase the best of both worlds and everything in between.
